My wife and I have been members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church since 1998, or almost a quarter century! We joined St. Luke’s shortly after moving to Montclair from Bloomfield in 1998. St. Luke’s has since provided my family a veritable spiritual anchor. Our twins, Luka and Dera were born in 2003 and baptized at Saint Luke’s shortly afterwards. Over the years, my family has been active in the Church activities – I was a member of the last Search Committee and part of the sub-committee that was responsible for recruiting the current Rector, Rev. John Mennell; my wife, Enuma, spent several years on the committee responsible for organizing and catering for the weekly coffee hour gatherings. Luka and Dera participated in Sunday School and the Junior Choir. Prior to becoming a member of St. Luke’s, I served on the Vestry of Christ’s Church, Bloomfield/Glen Ridge and for several years in the late 1990s, served on the Board of The Apostle’s House, Newark, a diocesan initiative to provide shelter to at-risk-families and food pantry.
Professionally, I am a global health technology entrepreneur and founded InStrat Global Health Solutions in 2010 to identifying and scale mobile health technologies. These technologies have significantly contributed to improving healthcare delivery for underserved populations in Africa. Prior to InStrat I spent over thirteen years in leadership positions in two pharmaceutical industry leaders — Pfizer, Inc., and Novartis.
I attended Columbia University New York from 1994 to 1996 where I obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA). Prior to my MBA I worked as an investment banker in the Nigerian subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase and later with a West African regional bank, Ecobank.
If I am given the opportunity to serve as a member of our Vestry, I will lend my expertise, gained from decades as a business executive, and from service to St. Luke’s, Christ’s Church, and The Apostle’s House, to ensure that we continue to grow St. Luke’s mission and impact in a financially sustainable way.
