We will gather again on Monday, December 11 to share a communal meal at our bigger table as we reflect on our learnings from Rev. John Pavlovitz’s A Bigger Table: Creating Messy, Authentic, and Hopeful Spiritual Community at the same time and in the same places – at 7pm EST and in person at the Rectory at 75 South Fullerton Avenue in Montclair and online via Skype.
For next month, we’ll read the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? And, yes, if that sounds somewhat familiar, it’s because we read it two years ago (but, if memory serves, only a handful of you were able to join in the discussion). Given what’s happening in our society at the moment, it’s titular question seems ever more urgent and its proposed solutions are even more needed …
Also, remember that we typically select our readings for the first half of next year at our December gathering, so please bring copies of books that you’d like to suggest so that your fellow Explorers can peruse them as they share their own.Email Walter Booker at booker@slechurch.org for additional information.
