Bill Allport

Assisting Clergy

Many of you have had the opportunity to meet Bill at our Monday Bible study, Wednesday healing service, or in the back of the pumpkin truck. Serving as a staff chaplain for the Seamen’s Church Institute—the oldest maritime ministry in the United States—Rev. Allport supports seafarers and mariners daily in the Port of New York and New Jersey, as well as through domestic and international response efforts. He also supervises the chaplain staff and a diverse community of daily chaplain volunteers.

Fr. Bill received his Master of Arts in Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA, and his Doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. In addition to his religious studies, he completed undergraduate degree programs in Political Science and Spanish at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Bill is a sometime resident of the Rectory and is married to the Rev. Carrie Allport; they have two children.
