Vestry Class of 2029
Being part of a Church is an essential element of my walk in faith and St. Luke’s has been my treasured spiritual home since the end of 2018. I worship here with my husband, Sudhir, and 11-year old daughter, Navya. This congregation has poured so much into my family’s life in the last 8 years and it is an honor to be considered to serve on the Vestry as another way to give back to this incredible community.
Having grown up in India in the Anglican Church, embracing the Episcopal Church for the last 15 years has added a deeper meaning in celebrating the diversity of God’s people and God’s love for ALL. Regardless of Church denomination, being an active steward of God has been at the heart of my Christian life right from childhood. My parents were actively involved in various Church ministries and their commitment to serving in Church instilled in me the same joy of sharing my time and talents to serve whichever Church community I was a part of. Over the years I have enjoyed serving in the Choir, J2A Program, Stewardship committee, Ushers ministry, and an after-school program for underprivileged kids.
At St. Luke’s, I started getting involved in ministry life by serving as a Sunday School teacher and still continue to be inspired by the curious minds of the young ones we teach every year. When Covid hit and online worship introduced the Virtual Verger ministry, I joined the group led by Stevie and still continue to serve as a Virtual Verger to this day. I also bring the Indian flavor to Coffee Hour as I lead one of the coffee hour teams.
It is a true blessing to be part of such a vibrant, inclusive and warm congregation at St. Luke’s and I hope to be able to carry on being a dedicated steward of God in enriching the community of faith that our Church is growing.
