I love hills. I love what you can see. I love the challenge of the climb. We have a lot of hills. In the picture with this entry you can zoom down on the right and see a bridge over the water that we had crossed earlier in the morning.

Today we ended on the western edge of Cantabria – one of Spain’s “autonomous regions.” Fortunately it is not seeking to separate from Spain. We are excited to see what differences there are (if any) in Asturias, where we will be after we cross the river first thing in the morning.

I have been watching the Picos de Europe for several days. The mountain range is just 20 miles from the coast in Asturias. It has been interesting to watch the hills grow closer and come into greater definition as we have approached. I imagine western settlers approaching the Rockies for days. The good news is that we do not have to go over them.
