June 29 was a day of “selfies and saws” at St. Luke’s. Not only was it Social Media Sunday nationally within the Episcopal Church, but also St. Luke’s and Habitat for Humanity, Newark joined forces for the first ever, “Habitat Wall Build on the Lawn.”<\/p>\n

After integrating technology into our Sunday services and sharing on our social media websites about church, parishioners, family, friends, and community members headed to the front lawn of St. Luke’s to build walls for homes in Newark. People purchased 2×4’s and wrote prayers and well wishes to the new families that would live in the homes. Then, homes were built, one wall at a time, and transported to Newark where they are used to build homes for people who need them.<\/p>\n
