As summer nears an end, we will have our last Worship Without Walls service of the season on September 1 at 5:00 p.m. on the front lawn of St. Luke&#8217;s, which will be followed by a barbecue. Please come to join us for worship, good food, and fellowship with parish and the community. For more information, email <a href=\"mailto:info@slechurch.org\">info@slechurch.org<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the summer we take some of our worship out into our community, surrounded by creation to celebrate Christ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0text &#8220;stlukesmtc&#8221; to 41411<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P2tbI4-12G\">To participate click here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>From Memorial Day Weekend (May 26) through Labor Day Weekend (September 1) we will have a 5:00pm service at a location that will be determined that morning and communicated by text message. \u00a0(Consider it a flash mob mass &#8211; to get notifications about the location text &#8220;stlukesmtc&#8221; to 41411). The service will have readings, sermon, prayers, songs and communion. All of the W3 worship locations will<\/p>\n<p>be within a two mile radius of St. Luke&#8217;s in Montclair.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/slechurch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/worshipwithoutwallsgraphic.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4026\" alt=\"worshipwithoutwallsgraphic\" src=\"https:\/\/slechurch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/worshipwithoutwallsgraphic-300x178.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/slechurch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/worshipwithoutwallsgraphic-300x178.png 300w, https:\/\/slechurch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/worshipwithoutwallsgraphic-1024x607.png 1024w, https:\/\/slechurch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/worshipwithoutwallsgraphic.png 1531w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Liturgy and worship has always been considered the work of the people. \u00a0There are lots of simple roles described below. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P2tbI4-12G\">To sign up to participate click here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reader &#8211; Bring the reading with you and read it during the service. \u00a0The first and second readings will be the same as the ones used Sunday and the service leaflet is always available on line.<\/p>\n<p>Prayer &#8211; Lead the prayers of the people. \u00a0Bring with you and introduce the prayers and the response. \u00a0Use the prayers from Sunday morning that are included in the service leaflet that is available on this website<\/p>\n<p>Singer &#8211; Lead or perform a simple song of Christian praise. \u00a0Whether an opera aria, a taize chant, a praise song or Amazing Grace. \u00a0Lead with voice or instrument. \u00a0Share your gift of music and invite others to join in.<\/p>\n<p>Crosser &#8211; Bring a processional cross to the service and a stand in which to hold it.<\/p>\n<p>Banner &#8211; We will have a Worship Without Walls Banner; bring it and its stand to the site, set it up before the service, and take it down after the service.<\/p>\n<p>Flamer &#8211; Bring candles and a lighter to the service.<\/p>\n<p>Giver &#8211; Collect the gifts to be shared from those who attend the service.<\/p>\n<p>Tabler &#8211; Bring the altar to the service.<\/p>\n<p>Snapper &#8211; Snap pictures of the service at each unique location.<\/p>\n<p>Smoker &#8211; Share incense at the service.<\/p>\n<p>Grabber &#8211; Grab and usher people into the location of the service.<\/p>\n<p>Dealer &#8211; Hand out informational postcards at the service about Worship Without Walls and how to find more information.<\/p>\n<p>Wino &#8211; Bring the communion wine to the service.<\/p>\n<p>Chairperson &#8211; Bring folding chairs to the service.<\/p>\n<p>Server &#8211; Serve as the Eucharistic Minister at our service.<\/p>\n<p>Ding Dong &#8211; Bring and ring the sanctus bells to the location of our service.<\/p>\n<p>Disher &#8211; Bring a cup and plate for communion to the service.<\/p>\n<p>Loafer &#8211; Bring the bread for communion to the service.<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past summer, St. Luke&#8217;s launched a new type of service called, &#8220;Worship Without Walls&#8221; and it has been an exciting way to bring worship into the community.
