CROP Walk

“If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday.”  Isaiah 58:10

What is a CROP Hunger Walk?

Neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world.  Together we raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting.

We are actively involved in the Essex County Crop Walk, sponsored by Church World Service.  Our own Toni’s Kitchen has been a recipient of grants from CROP Walk, as are other local groups.  Additionally, other parts of the world ranging from Cambodia to Africa benefit from the efforts of Crop Walk.

The St. Luke’s Church community is customarily a strong supporter of CROP Walk by providing walkers and sponsors to help raise funds going toward the eradication of hunger and poverty both worldwide, nationally, and locally — our own Toni’s Kitchen being a recipient of their support.
These are issues and needs that do not go away.  Currently in New Jersey one in three households struggles to meet the basic necessities of housing, child care, food, health care and transportation — and the Montclair area is far from immune to this.
Please be generous with your contributions through A.I.M., alternatively checks may be made out to CWS-CROP for sponsorship of walkers.  For further information please contact Michael Alberga (973-783-9650).
