Delegate to 2022 Diocesan Convention
I have been a member of St. Luke’s Church for about 10 years now. We began our search for a church many years ago and found that St. Luke’s had everything that we needed in a church. I have three children, N’Adom (21), Chaye (18), and Afia (12). I found that the church had something to offer each and every one of us at a time in our lives when we each needed something different. We have participated in a number of youth ministry gatherings ranging from Elementary and Middle school retreats at Cross Roads Camp and Retreat Center to Youth Choir and Vacation Bible school at St. Luke’s Church in the summers. I grew up in the Episcopalian church and have always found that my comfort zone remains within this religion, generally and within this church, specifically.
I have been the Queen Pumpkin, leading the annual pumpkin patch effort for the last five years to raise funds for the youth ministry of St. Luke’s and the Navajo community who farm the pumpkins. The pumpkin patch has also been a phenomenal community outreach effort, bringing many of our neighbors into the fold of the St Luke’s family. For nearly three years now, I have also been an active member of the Cross Roads Development Council which helps to raise funds for the Cross Roads camp and retreat center for our youth and adults looking for additional spiritual enrichment. I have come to know so many members of this parish and have been very fond of Father John, his sermons, the youth ministry, the music program and much more! I love this St. Luke’s family so much and would be excited to represent us at the convention.
