Vestry Class of 2023

My family and I have been active members of St. Luke’s for over 30 years; I want to extend my service to this great community as a Vestry member once again. Currently, I am involved as a reader, Eucharistic Minister, and a tenor in our fabulous choir.  Perhaps the best thing I have done here is to be a member of the Search Committee that brought us John Mennell!

I have had the privilege to serve the parish in both good and troubled times. I was a member of the Vestry during the crisis caused by a former Rector.  I was appointed to represent the church in the ensuing investigations and contact with the Federal authorities, Diocese and the media. I then served as the Church Attorney for the Diocese of Newark, responsible for investigating and prosecuting cases of clergy misconduct.

As Senior Warden I worked through the transition from an interim to a new Rector. After that time I was the head of the Worship Committee and later chaired the Music Committee.  I led the committee that brought Jim Millar, our choir director, to the church.

Service to St. Luke’s has been an integral part of our family. You might know me as the dad of Liz, our Youth Group Director, or the husband of Charlene, who for decades has been in choir and a volunteer in many capacities. Our son Michael also served as a Vestry member, being the youngest ever elected.

Having just retired, it is now my time to get even more involved in the life of St. Luke’s. My background as an attorney and experience at St. Luke’s will lend itself to serving the parish as a member of the Vestry. I know where our parish has been and I want to help forge its future. I hope you will afford me that opportunity.
