At General Convention, going on now, the Rev. John Mennell and elected Deputy, Bert Jones, are present for some big changes. First, the Supreme Court of the United States voted that marriage equality is a right upheld by the Constitution. Then, The Rev. Michael Curry, Bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina, was voted as the next presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. His term officially starts on November 1st and will last for nine years. He is the first elected black Bishop and his tenure will follow that of the first female Bishop. To read more, please click here.
