Lenten Spiritual Enrichment Programs

Mark BS

Join us in Lent as we reflect on the meaning of the season through worship, outreach, and spiritual enrichment. The following offerings are available to all. You may find one or two that move you, or many that help you reflect in this season. For more information, email info@slechurch.org.

The following are the Spiritual Enrichment Programs that St. Luke’s has available during Lent:

The Bible Challenge
Read the bible in one year, starting on Ash Wednesday. It’s not too late to join! Even if you want to join after the start of Lent, we will add you to them mailing list. Daily readings of the bible will be delivered to you by email and the entire Bible will have been provided to you over the course of the next year.

Lent Madness
Throughout Lent, thirty-two saints are placed into a tournament-like single-elimination bracket, and people will be able to vote for their favorite. As we continue throughout Lent, all are encouraged to participate, especially with children, to learn more about each saint as a devotion for the season. The final saint remaining receive the title of the coveted, “Golden Halo.”

Centering Prayer
St. Luke’s currently offers a Centering Prayer Class Series. Classes follow a retreat that was held in February and teach those involved the many methods of prayer and how to balance the mind, body, and spirit to be close with God. If you missed the retreat, don’t fret, because each class stands on its own. We only ask that you meet with us before you attend a class to learn the method of centering prayer.

Prayerful Listening
St. Luke’s Spiritual Enrichment currently holds a prayerful listening group that meets monthly in an intimate setting, during which all learn to listen prayerfully to the reflections of others without feeling compelled to speak, nor to stay silent. This class is full, but email us for more information on the act of prayerful and intentional listening. This skill can be utilized in daily life, in groups, or personally.
