Lenten Outreach Programs

SONY DSC

Join us in Lent as we reflect on the meaning of the season through worship, outreach, and spiritual enrichment. The following offerings are available to all. You may find one or two that move you, or many that help you reflect in this season. For more information, email info@slechurch.org.

The following are the Outreach Programs that St. Luke’s has available during Lent:

Pray the Parish
Help us pray for everyone in the parish spread over the days of Lent. We take a complete list of everyone at St. Luke’s and assign them to a day on which prayers will be said for them and others on that day. All will be provided with a list. Once, the whole parish list even made it to the wailing wall.

Volunteer at the 2nd Time Around Shop
Help us sort clothing, run the registers, clean, iron, and more. The 2nd Time Around Shop is many things to many people; to some, it is a neat thrift shop to peruse for cool clothes; for others, its an opportunity to purchase low cost items to protect their families from cold winters, to have clean garments, jackets, and more. Also, to  volunteers, its a way to give back to the community, to have a purpose during the day to help someone other than ourselves, and to build community.

Volunteer at Toni’s Kitchen
Contact us to cook, sort food, serve guests, clean, or pick up food donations. Toni’s Kitchen isn’t just about meals, but also about bringing people together, helping others with social services, medical check ups and more. Toni’s Kitchen serves to all people who come, regardless of need. Come to be a part of the ever growing ministry at St. Luke’s that changes the lives of others. We always appreciate volunteers in the kitchen, office, or on the road running errands for the Kitchen.

Lenten Devotional
Episcopal Relief and Development provides Lenten Devotional booklets for the season that focus on community growth, outreach, and empowerment. Follow along with your own booklet, found at the back of the church.
