Women’s Group Retreat – Oct. 20

“Encounters of the Divine – Our Lives as Sacred Story”

When: Saturday, October 20th, 9am-3pm
Where: Diana’s home in rural Sussex County
Beforehand: Purchase and read (let me know if you need it purchased for you) “An Altar in the World: A Geography of Faith” by Barbara Brown   Taylor (currently lists on Amazon for $10.19 new in paperback).  Here is a link to it:
While some of you may be able to read the entire book before the retreat, do not stress about trying to read it all.  Pick a chapter or two that call to you, and we can share with one another what we encountered in the readings, and why we may have selected them.  If you don’t have time to pre-read at all, don’t worry about that either.  I am sure that our discussion will be something everyone will feel comfortable participating in, as that is the type of material that is in the book.

What to Expect: Expect nothing, and gain everything!  We will explore and share our journeys, identifying the bumps, turns, and encounters with God along the path.  Come open to looking inward.  Come open to listening to others with intention. Come open to the Holy Spirit working in and through us in our sacred space.
Cost: $0 except for the book, and gas to get there (please try to car pool).

For more information, come to our next meeting will be on Friday, October 12th, 7pm in the Davis Room.  All are welcome!

The St. Luke’s Women’s Group is open to all women in the parish who are seeking a place to experience the sacred, while celebrating the diversity of who we are as women.  In our common bonds as members of this faith community, we are joyfully seeking and serving Christ together. All women are welcome!
