The orchestra will kick off their new season here at St. Luke’s! Their first concert offers an escape to Persia, featuring Behzad Ranjbaran’s song cycle Songs of Eternity performed by rising star soprano Gabriella Reyes, with the original 12th century Farsi poems read by Montclair’s Mahtab Foroughi. The orchestra is then on full virtuosic display, featuring Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, conjuring up images of the sea, a storm, and a young Persian prince and princess.
The Montclair Orchestra will return to St. Luke’s early next year for their “Concerto Grosso” on January 31, which will feature works by Bach, Schnittke, and Stravinsky.
